FORTITUDE: Patience and constant courage amidst adversity. The darkness of winter has faded and the newness of spring has begun.  Though the winters here in South Dakota can be very cold and long, God’s light  is shining bright and clear.

At this Year’s Christmas Party we were able to minister to over 300 people.  Through the kid’s program, Cody’s dynamic preaching, our friends from Colorado and Indiana, and, most importantly, the power of the Holy Spirit, we were able to feed all 300 people both physically and spiritually.

Just last month we held our Easter service where we had over 100 attend to share in the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus! But, we all know that it is not about the numbers.  If I had to describe the true success of this ministry, I would do it with one word: “Fortitude.”

The Lord has blessed us with a ministry team that has defined the word fortitude.  No matter how dark the storm, how rough the waters, they have stood their ground and continue to fight the good fight.

He has also blessed us with a wonderful growing church family that is the very epitome of fortitude.  Though they are mocked and persecuted openly for the sake of Jesus, they continue to press on and seek the fullness of God in their lives.

The work in Oglala is by no means ’over.’  We still have a long way to go. But I truly believe, with my whole heart, that as long as we stay vigilant, persevere and depend on the Spirit of God we WILL see His work completed. Please continue to pray for the Lakota Nation and the community of Oglala.
